The U.S. military-government has directly committed genocides of the Philippine, Japanese, German, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotian, and Iraqi peoples. It has committed or directly supported massive, brutal terrorism and genocide of the Palestinian, Yugoslavian, Indonesian, Guatemalan, El Salvadoran, Nicaraguan, Honduran, Panamanian, Colombian, Chilean, Cuban, Haitian, Somali, Libyan, Iranian, Afghan and many other peoples.
And all the while, the corporate mass-media ceaselessly covers up the massive extent of the carnage, spinning all manner of fairy-tale fantasies as to the motives for the little they do reveal. Everything from “fighting Godless Communism” (by torturing and murdering millions of Asian people — to show them the Judeo-Christian values of The American Way), to “humanitarian intervention” (the violent mass-murder of thousands of Yugoslavian civilian men, women and children with cluster bombs, napalm and Depleted Uranium missiles) to “fighting terrorism” (by committing brutal terrorism, mass-murdering thousands of innocent, impoverished Afghan people).
However, the actual reason for America’s horrific war crimes against all these millions of people is a simple one — their attempted independence from the American Empire (which T.V.-brainwashed Americans don’t even know exists).
Subjugation of the world’s people, by any and all means, is seen by the American plutocracy as essential for the protection of U.S. corporate interests. Oil is the most strategically important commodity, of course, more important to America’s rulers than human life itself. Oil is indispensable, for both the economy and the military. People in other countries are not. But even where no oil is involved the American Empire will attempt to crush all serious resistance, as in Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, Chile, Nicaragua, Yugoslavia and even tiny Grenada, knowing that the threat of a good example will give the its vassal nations the wrong ideas.
American state terrorism is viewed as just another means to this end, albeit an expensive last-resort, to be used when the more cost-effective method of political-economic subversion fails. At the beginning of the 20th century, during the birth of the American Empire, President Teddy Roosevelt had a quaint euphemism for this ruthless American geopolitical strategy: “Walk softly and carry a big stick.”
Translation: “Use the subversive approach first, and if that doesn’t work, beat your victim into submission with the U.S. military.”
No wonder Teddy’s favorite exclamation was “Bully!”
Of course, submission to a bullying foreign power is not exactly the most appealing prospect to any nation, so there have been many rebellions. Over the course of the last blood-soaked century, however, the brutal American Empire emerged victorious in the wars for world domination, and it is now engaged primarily in protracted mopping-up operations against those few stubborn “third-world” nations that still dare to cling to their independence and self-respect.
America vs. the European Union
Even so, cracks are steadily spreading across the American Empire’s facade of omnipotence. The western European ruling classes will never be satisfied with their second-rate status, having fed their pompous national egos on the spoils of predatory empires in days past. Especially humiliating is the fact that their leaders must now grovel before the leaders of a culturally inferior nation like America Incorporated. Worse than humiliating, actually. America Inc. is a disturbingly insidious disease, infecting every country it touches with its immature, materialistic, mass-media culture; so adolescent, shallow and fake. American “culture” is more like the bacterial variety than the human; a hollow, artificial, Genetically-Modified, soulless, commercial culture that spreads like a virus for which there is no cure — degrading the hearts and confusing the minds of indiscriminate fools everywhere through every form of the corporate/government mass-media.
Therefore, since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Uncle Sham’s western European harem has been seeking (demurely of course) to become economically and militarily independent of their American master. Quietly edging toward the door, so to speak. Hoping, perhaps, to make a mad dash for freedom when the master isn’t looking? Alas, the master is always looking — from all directions at once, into every nook and cranny, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
From high-resolution cameras on surveillance satellites in the sky that can photograph every square inch of Earth’s surface; from Echelon systems that record and scan every email and phone conversation in the world for keywords; from surveillance cameras on streets, in hotel lobbies and who knows where else; from FBI taps on the phone and NSA backdoors on all computer operating systems and FBI “Magic Lantern” trojans inside both business and personal computers — Uncle Sham has got the entire world under surveillance, like some thousand-eyed cyber-Beast of Revelations.
The problem of European independence is made even more difficult by the fact that only a sufficiently large alliance of European states would make genuine freedom from America possible. Knowing this, the U.S. government has been engaged, since 1945, in a permanent campaign of covert subversion of all tendencies toward European unity.
The British government and plutocracy are close allies in this endeavor for three basic reasons. First, the cultural and linguistic ties make an alliance relatively easy. Secondly, the island nation has always seen itself as separate from the rest of Europe anyway. Thirdly, the British ruling class seeks to profit, economically and politically, from it’s loyal support of American state terrorism.
The political “profit” they seek is the illusion of national prestige. Because Britain gave birth to the American Beast, this pompous and increasingly techno-fascist island government cherishes feelings of parental superiority. But it also suffers from an addiction to basking in America’s reflected “glory”. By craven loyalty to their child-turned-Master, the British government and military can still savor a taste of blood and lost Empire.
Far from acquiring national prestige, however, Britain’s alliance with America provokes only feelings of disgust and contempt among decent Europeans. They see the British military-government for what it is: America’s most loyal little pet lapdog, Poopsie, yapping indignantly at anyone who dares to criticize his beloved master. Poopsie has no shame whatsoever, and will eagerly roll over and play dead and perform backward somersaults and any silly trick Uncle Sham requires, all the while barking importantly to the world as if he were still one of the big dogs.
The other western European concubines are not quite so depraved in relation to their master. Uncle Sham knows this very well, of course, and he keeps a close and distrustful eye on them all. The European Union’s use of the euro, in particular, is seen by the American plutocracy as a serious threat to the domination of the American dollar in the world economy. As soon as Europe can effectively challenge America economically, it will be able to challenge America politically, and eventually, militarily.
Uncle Sham has no intention of ever letting that happen, of course. But it’s a real challenge, because since 1991 it has been increasingly difficult for him to keep the European peoples in as politically confused a state as the spectacularly ignorant people of America. With no common enemy like the Soviet Union to use as a propaganda scapegoat, the U.S. government is fearful that increasing numbers of western European people are getting a clue that Imperial America and its mutant, genetically-modified, corporate McCulture is their worst enemy.
America vs. a Russian–E.U. Alliance
Uncle Sham knows that the easiest way to undermine European unity is to covertly encourage and exploit national chauvinism and ethnic hatreds among the European peoples. This “divide and conquer” strategy has been used by empires from time immemorial, of course, because it’s extremely effective. The most important European peoples to target are the Germans and the Russians. Germany has long been the economic powerhouse of Europe, while Russia has the biggest population and military, the greatest landmass of any nation in the world with the most natural resources, and potentially the biggest economy. Therefore, the covert encouragement of national rivalry and ethnic hatred between Russians and Germans is one of the most essential long-term strategies of the American Empire.
In fact, the geopolitical strategists of American Empire have feared the possibility of a strong and enduring German-Russian alliance, above all else, for over 100 years. Today, the American plutocracy’s biggest nightmare is the potential Russian alliance not only with Germany, but the entire European Union. Such an alliance would be powerful enough to check American imperial ambitions around the globe, and do it far more effectively than the Soviet Union ever could.
In spite of their fears, however, the American plutocracy is so confident of total victory that they don’t even bother to hide their imperial intentions from intelligent, informed people. (Particularly since intelligent, informed people have traditionally been such a microscopic minority of the American population. But this is changing, thanks to the Internet.) One of the many mouthpieces of the American plutocracy is Zbigniew Brzezinski. He was President Jimmy Carter’s National Security Advisor, and he has remained influential within American ruling circles in formulating American geopolitical strategy. In his 1997 book, The Grand Chessboard, Brzezinski openly expresses the American plutocracy’s fear of a Russian–European Union alliance, referring to it with the diplomatic euphemism of “a dominant and antagonistic Eurasian power”:
“The last decade of the twentieth century has witnessed a tectonic shift in world affairs. For the first time ever, a non-Eurasian power [the U.S.] has emerged not only as the key arbiter of Eurasian power relations but also as the world’s paramount power.
“The defeat and collapse of the Soviet Union was the final step in the rapid ascendance of a Western Hemisphere power, the United States, as the sole and, indeed, the first truly global power. ... [T]he issue of how a globally engaged America copes with the complex Eurasian power relationships — and particularly whether it prevents the emergence of a dominant and antagonistic Eurasian power — remains central to America’s capacity to exercise global primacy.”— Zbigniew Brzezinski

There you have it — straight from the horse’s mouth. An open declaration of American imperial concerns, made by a loyal pet of the corporate/banking plutocracy. The fear of “a dominant and antagonistic Eurasian power” is the most central issue for the American Empire. No other region on Earth is even remotely capable of challenging American power in the foreseeable future.
This fundamental geopolitical fact of life is the reason for some of America’s violent, militaristic behavior since the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991. Hard on the heels of that watershed event, the U.S. government and its obedient vassals in the German government openly encouraged the breakup of independent-minded Yugoslavia. Meanwhile, the U.S. and German militaries covertly armed, trained and funded the most fascistic elements within the Croatian, Bosnian Muslim and Albanian societies, and then covertly encouraged the inevitable ethnic warfare that resulted.
The U.S. and Germany terrorized the Serbian people for two reasons:

The fact that the Serbian people, true to their historical tendency, sought freedom from Imperial American domination. Like a modern-day “David” fighting one imperial “Goliath” after another, the Serbian people fought the Ottoman Turkish empire, the Austro-Hungarian empire and the Nazi German Third Reich. The Yugoslav government under Tito maintained a high degree of political independence even from the Soviet Union.
Slobodan Milosevic was merely continuing in that ancient tradition of Serbian independence. He was another case of the threat of a good example — threatening to give the rest of Europe the dangerous idea that it could become independent of the U.S. Therefore Milosevic and the entire nation of Serbians were demonized by an openly racist Western mass-media, which propagandized and painted the sordid fantasy its corporate owners wanted people to imagine.

The Serbian people are descended from the same ancestors as the Russian people, having migrated to the Danube River valley from the northeast about 1,500 years ago, following the collapse of the Roman Empire. For all those 1,500 years they have maintained their close ethnic, linguistic and religious ties with the Russian people.
During the 1999 U.S./NATO terror campaign, 3,000 Serbian civilian men, women and children were brutally mass-murdered during the cowardly, bestial, 19-nation gang-rape in which Germany played a very prominent role. This fact has reopened deep wounds among the Russian and Serbian peoples. The memory of Nazi German atrocities is very much alive within both Serbia and Russia. One million Serbians and several million Russian, Belarus and Ukranian people died horribly at the hands of German soldiers and bomber aircrews in WWII. You don’t forget something like that any century soon.
The plutocracy behind the U.S. government knew exactly what it was doing by using Germany as such a close and prominent ally against Serbia. It did so for the express purpose of reopening these old wounds among the Russian people.
Historical background of American subversion
When Otto von Bismarck united Germany in the 19th century, the possibility of an alliance between the German Kaiser and the Russian Czar became a major threat to the British Empire. Such an alliance was seen as a potential threat by American strategists too, after the American Empire was founded in the blood of Philippine men, women and children in 1899.
Then, to the dismay of greedy capitalists everywhere, the Russian people liberated themselves from the Dark Ages and entered the 20th century when they overthrew the feudal Czarist regime in 1917. There had also been a very strong socialist movement in Germany for decades, and the Kaiser’s overthrow made it stronger. European and American capitalists were afraid that German socialists would prevail and form an alliance with their Russian counterparts. German socialist leaders were assassinated and the U.S. military directly intervened in Russia’s civil war from 1918 to 1920, supporting the forces of Russia’s cruel feudalism — while trumpeting the propaganda that America’s aim was to “make the world safe for democracy”.
Well, democracy be damned, of course, but the U.S. military failed to make the world safe even for their beloved feudalism. In spite of that bitter disappointment, however, the American ruling elite took considerable consolation in the fact that U.S. military pressure and economic subversion succeeded in destroying any hope for democratic socialism in the Soviet Union. This paved the way for the rise to power of the brutal tyrant, Josef Stalin, in the mid-1920s.
Meanwhile, the American plutocracy had even better luck in Germany. Without Americans having to fire a shot, the political-economic support of American banks and corporations for the Nazi Party in the 1920s and ’30s helped the Nazis to destroy all opposition within Germany. The German opponents of the Nazis consisted primarily of Stalinists (the so-called “communists”), Trotskyist socialists and democratic socialists. Democratic socialism benefits the majority of people in any given nation, and therefore it was (and is) considered the greatest threat by the capitalist plutocracies of every nation. The Nazis destroyed it in Germany, effectively doing the American plutocracy’s dirty work for it. With Germany in the grip of racist, fascistic Naziism, and Russia in the grip of totalitarian Stalinism, America’s rulers would seem to have succeeded in their fundamental strategy of preventing any alliance between the two nations in the foreseeable future.
It’s a little-known fact (in America, of course) that Adolf Hitler had many friendly connections within the American corporate plutocracy. His rise to power was politically and financially supported by corporations like IBM, ITT, Standard Oil, General Motors, the Ford Motor Company, General Electric, Chase Bank, National City Bank and the Union Banking Corp. of Prescott Bush (grandfather of Unpresident G.W. Bush). These and other American corporations made a lot of money by quietly doing business with the Nazi Third Reich.
Despite the misleading formal name of the Nazi Party — the “National Socialist Worker’s Party” — Naziism was basically capitalist and fascist. But socialism was widely popular in Germany because the majority of German people were intelligent enough to know that socialism was in their self-interest. And the political power of Hitler and Naziism was derived from their populist appeal to the suffering German people after WWI. Therefore the Nazi party proclaimed a unique form of race-based economic socialism.
American corporate supporters of the Nazis knew that Hitler was a capitalist nevertheless, and that Naziism served American corporate interests very well — particularly since it destroyed any chance of democratic socialism in Germany. So the American plutocracy expected to keep Hitler and the Nazis under their covert control. But Hitler was a charismatic leader and Naziism was a populist movement — in a suffering, enraged and proud nation abused by foreign powers — and together they were about as controllable as a tidal wave. When Hitler made an alliance with Stalin in 1939 just prior to the outbreak of the war, it looked like the plan had backfired in a big way.
Intense American political-economic pressure and intrigue was behind Hitler’s sudden backstabbing of Stalin with the apparently irrational decision to invade Russia and Serbia in 1941. As the German military bombed, burned and butchered its way east and south, many a sigh of relief was heard among the corporate rulers of America. Animalistic atrocities were committed by German and Croatian soldiers against helpless Russian, Ukranian and Serbian men, women and children during the war — and equally animalistic atrocities were committed by Russians and Poles against helpless German men, women and children in the final months of the war and afterwards. This guaranteed that there would be deep animosity between the German and Russian/Polish peoples for many generations to come. America’s corporate rulers couldn’t have been happier.
The horrific war-crimes of the Allies against helpless German civilian people is a totally unknown part of history to most Americans. After the war, vengeful Russians and Poles rounded up innocent German people and put them in concentration camps, raping, torturing and mass-murdering them. The crimes of Russians and Poles were every bit as evil and monstrous as the crimes of the Nazis. And it’s all covered up in the American mass-media and schools.
Tens of millions of European people died violent, gruesome deaths during WWII — including millions of innocent German civilian people. Hundreds of thousands of civilian German men, women and children were burned alive during the American/British firebombings of Dresden, Hamburg, Berlin and many other cities. But while Europeans suffered horribly, it all went very well indeed for the American Empire. Having played a clandestine role in instigating the war, America then emerged from the unprecedented carnage as the supreme military and economic power of the world.
America’s bloodshed-based economy was further stimulated by yet more war in the “post-war” years as the U.S. military committed even greater genocides in Korea, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Meanwhile, the U.S.S.R. steadily rotted from its own corruption and domestic oppression (just as the U.S.A. is today), and was weakened further by decades of relentless American political and economic subversion.
Finally the Soviet Union collapsed like a house of cards in 1991. Russia immediately mutated into a venal capitalist mafia state, and at last the Russian people had something politically in common with America and western Europe. American corporate mafia capitalists outdid themselves in smug self-congratulation. God was in his heaven, and all was right with the world.
Contrary to the public chest-thumping by American politicians about the “death of socialism” and the “triumph of the market”, however, the more intelligent elements of the American plutocracy were not at all happy with this development. Not only had they lost their best political scapegoat and the primary reason for the gargantuan military budget, but they knew Russia would forge closer economic ties with its European neighbors. And that would inevitably lead to just the sort of powerful alliance which American geopolitical strategists have always feared.
The immediate tactic of the American plutocracy was to do everything possible to sabotage Russia economically and politically, and also to encourage the reopening of as many ethnic wounds and animosities as possible between Europeans, especially between Russians and Germans. Hence, the U.S./German-sponsored breakup of Yugoslavia in 1992, culminating in the 1999 U.S./NATO terror campaign, during which Germany was a major participant and staging area for airstrikes against innocent Yugoslav civilian people.
In Germany’s very first military campaign since the fall of the Third Reich, it once again mass-murdered Yugoslav civilian men, women and children, just as the Luftwaffe and Hitler’s evil armies did from 1941 to 1944.
And once again the American plutocracy was triumphant, succeeding spectacularly by their cruel strategies. The deep wounds were reopened, thousands of innocent people were brutally murdered by American/NATO bombs, the surviving relatives and loved ones are heartbroken, tens of thousands of people are severely traumatized, millions more are impoverished. What fun! The diabolical American ruling class couldn’t have been more delighted.

Walk softly and carry a big stick indeed. Insidious subversion, relentless mass-media propaganda and brutal state terrorism, followed by a liberal (very Liberal) dose of mass-media coverups. The murderous “divide and conquer” policy was a classic strategem of the British Empire, and it’s an essential political strategy of their successor, the American Empire.
In every single campaign of American state terrorism around the world for a hundred years, the U.S. Corporate Mafia Government and military have made a bloody example of courageous peoples who dared to be free. From the Philippines in 1899-1902, to Korea in 1950-53, to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in the 1960s and ’70s, to Nicaragua, Libya and Iran in the 1980s, to Iraq from 1991 to the present, to Yugoslavia from 1992-2000, to Afghanistan from 2001 to the present — the one thing they all had in common was their attempted independence from America.
With every brutal state terror campaign, America’s national self-esteem refreshed with the blood of cluster-bombed children, Uncle Sham bellows in triumph and pounds another hamfisted warning to the world: “Bow down to US! The American Beast reigns supreme!”
And every time, the world’s cowardly, whoring governments are only too eager to grovel before their satanic Master.
Of course, when Uncle Sham speaks to the T.V. cameras, he puts on his smiling mask and prattles soothingly of all things “democratic” and “humanitarian”. But the high-tech gun he has pointed to the world’s head sends an altogether different message.
After all, ruthless competition is The American Way.
Thanks to the September 11 “Reichstag fire”, however, Uncle Sham can at last drop all pretense of human values. Now every heroic, high-tech slaughter of civilian men, women and children anywhere in the world can be mindlessly justified in the corporate mass-media as “the fight against terrorism” and “patriotic defense of The Homeland”. Sieg Heil!

“Cable News Network (CNN) and National Public Radio (NPR) have acknowledged that eight members of the US Army 4th Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Group served as interns in their news divisions and other areas during the Kosovo war. PSYOPS is a highly specialized unit of the military whose personnel are trained in the production and dissemination of US government propaganda, including on television and radio programs.”
“Three PSYOPS personnel also worked at the Washington DC headquarters of NPR, a publicly-funded radio network. They worked for periods ranging from six weeks to four months from September 1998 through May 1999 on such programs as All Things Considered and Morning Edition.”
