Renni Renni
you write so many
poems from your fingers do trickle
our thoughts and imaginations you like to tickle
upon your sweatshirt do you write
alone streams out your heart into the night
visions upon your paper do prance
in your dungeon basement alone you dance
in the prison of your silence you are a master
your feelings and dreams you can't write faster
how you would trade your shy prison walls
to taste true love, to have it all, and never fear a fall
and so my poem to you is a poet's kiss, fair darkness maiden
come out of your tower, let fly free your raven
a soulful poetress the world does need
take your pen, let fly and sow the seed
~
to a poetry duel do you I now challenge
a thrashing of words and images, a splattering melange
in a dusty dotcom ghost city corner of cyberspace we now shall meet
its high noon, draw partner, and prepare to be beat
no stuttering to hide behind as an excuse
no jerks to stand you up and do you abuse
just you and I and our No. 2 pencils
stand up or give it up and go back to your stencils
so quiet girl here I am and I await your reply
swat those bugs on your wall and let lose your best poetress sigh
the keyboard is waiting and your thoughts are so whizzy
its rock and roll time, flex your right brain, and get busy!
